Description
Solid SBR Rubber Strip — 8mm Thick
A robust, general-purpose solid rubber strip manufactured from an NR/SBR (Natural Rubber / Styrene Butadiene Rubber) compound, supplied in a continuous 5-metre roll and available in nine widths from 10 mm to 50 mm. At 8 mm thick, this strip delivers reliable performance across sealing, gasketing, weatherproofing, vibration damping, bump protection, and cushioning applications in both commercial and industrial environments. It can be trimmed cleanly with scissors or a craft knife and bonded to most hard surfaces with a general-purpose contact adhesive — a practical, ready-to-use solution for engineers, tradespeople, and DIY users alike.

Frequently Asked Questions
What widths are available for this 8mm rubber strip?
Nine widths are stocked: 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm, 35 mm, 40 mm, and 50 mm. Each roll is 5 metres long. Select your preferred width from the option menu above.
Can this strip be cut to a shorter length or a custom width?
Yes. The strip cuts cleanly with scissors or a craft knife, allowing you to trim it to any required length on site. Width cannot be altered once cut, so select the closest available width to your requirement.
How do I fix the rubber strip in place?
It bonds securely to most hard, clean surfaces using a general-purpose contact adhesive. Apply adhesive to both surfaces, allow to become touch-dry, then press firmly together for a strong, lasting bond.
Is this strip suitable for outdoor use?
It is waterproof and performs well in outdoor environments within its −30°C to +70°C operating range. However, it is not recommended for continuous direct UV exposure, so shielded or covered installations are preferable for long-term outdoor use.
What is the hardness and how does it affect performance?
The strip is rated at 65 Shore A (−4 / +5 tolerance), placing it in the medium-firm range. This provides a good balance of flexibility for conforming to surfaces and firmness for effective sealing, damping, and impact resistance.
