Description
5mm Solid SBR Rubber Strip
A robust, general-purpose solid rubber strip manufactured from Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR), supplied in a continuous length and available in widths from 10mm to 50mm. Engineered for demanding sealing, cushioning, and protective applications across industrial, commercial, and construction environments, this 5mm strip delivers reliable performance where abrasion resistance, flexibility, and dimensional stability are essential.
This 5mm solid SBR rubber strip is a versatile, high-performance sealing and cushioning material suited to a wide range of everyday and industrial uses. Whether you need a reliable weather seal for doors and windows, a protective edge strip for machinery, or a vibration-dampening layer between surfaces, this strip provides a consistent, durable solution. Supplied by the sheet or roll, it is easy to cut to length on-site with standard tools — no specialist equipment required. The solid construction ensures uniform compression and a dependable seal across the full contact area.

What widths are available for this 5mm SBR rubber strip?
This strip is available in nine standard widths: 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, 40mm, and 50mm. All widths are supplied at a consistent 5mm thickness and are cut from the same solid SBR compound.
Is this rubber strip suitable for outdoor use?
It performs well in sheltered outdoor environments and handles rain and moisture without issue. However, SBR has moderate UV and ozone resistance, so for applications with prolonged direct sunlight exposure, an EPDM or neoprene grade would be a more durable long-term choice.
Can I use this strip as a door or window seal?
Yes — this is one of the most common uses. The 5mm thickness and 65 Shore A hardness provide a firm yet compressible seal that closes gaps effectively around doors, frames, hatches, and access panels. It can be cut to length and fixed with adhesive or self-adhesive backing where available.
How is the strip supplied and can I cut it myself?
It is supplied as a continuous sheet or roll and can be cut to any required length using a sharp utility knife, scissors, or a straight-edge cutter. No specialist tools are needed. Cuts are clean and the material does not fray or delaminate.
Is this SBR strip resistant to oils and fuels?
No — SBR rubber is not recommended for contact with oils, fuels, petrol, or hydrocarbon solvents. For those environments, a Nitrile (NBR) rubber strip is the correct material choice. SBR excels in water, abrasion, and general mechanical applications.
