Description

Solid SBR Rubber Strip — 1.5mm Thick

A commercial-grade solid rubber strip manufactured from a blend of Natural Rubber and Styrene Butadiene Rubber (NR/SBR). Supplied in 5-metre rolls across a range of widths from 10mm to 100mm, this 1.5mm strip is a trusted choice for sealing, weather stripping, gasket cutting, vibration damping, cushioning, and general-purpose protection across engineering, manufacturing, construction, and trade applications. Tough, flexible, and easy to cut to size — it performs reliably wherever a thin, resilient rubber strip is required.

Applications

Weather Stripping Door & Window Sealing Gasket Cutting Vibration Damping Sound Reduction Bump Protection Cushioning & Packing Impact Resistance Surface Lining Non-Slip Matting Machinery Protection DIY & Trade Use

This strip is widely used across engineering, manufacturing, construction, and general trade. It bonds readily to most hard surfaces using a general-purpose contact adhesive and can be trimmed cleanly with scissors or a craft knife — making it straightforward to fit without specialist tools.

Not recommended for prolonged exposure to UV light, petrol, ozone, or solvents. For outdoor or UV-exposed environments, a silicone or EPDM rubber strip would be more appropriate.

Key Properties

  • Solid, dense construction — not foam or sponge
  • Flexible yet robust — maintains shape under repeated compression
  • Good resistance to water, impact, wear, and abrasion
  • Bonds to most hard surfaces with contact adhesive
  • Easy to cut and trim with standard hand tools
  • Performs across a wide temperature range: −30°C to +70°C
  • Supplied in 5-metre rolls — suitable for both short runs and larger projects

Frequently Asked Questions

What widths are available?

This strip is available in 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm widths. All rolls are 1.5mm thick and 5 metres long. Select your width from the menu above.

Can I cut this strip to a custom length or shape?

Yes. The strip cuts cleanly with scissors or a craft knife, making it straightforward to trim to any required length or profile on site.

How do I fix the strip to a surface?

It adheres well to most hard surfaces using a general-purpose contact adhesive. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease before bonding.

Is this strip suitable for outdoor use?

SBR rubber is not recommended for prolonged exposure to UV light, ozone, petrol, or solvents. For outdoor or exposed environments, an EPDM or silicone rubber strip would be a more suitable choice.

What is the hardness and how does it feel?

The hardness is 65 Shore A — firm and resilient, with enough flexibility to compress under load and return to shape. It is noticeably stiffer than foam but remains easy to handle and cut.

Are there any tolerances I should be aware of?

Yes. Width tolerances range from ±1.0mm (for strips up to 25mm wide) to ±1.5mm (25mm–100mm). Thickness tolerance for 1.5mm strip is ±0.25mm. These are standard manufacturing tolerances for extruded rubber profiles.
